Richard Johnson

Richard Frederick Johnson, Jr., 50, Zionsville, died at Methodist Hospital on October 20, 2009. The eldest of five children, Rich was raised in Midland, Michigan. He was awarded a basketball scholarship to Blackburn College in Carlinville, IL, where he met his wife, Cheryl, to whom he was married for 27 years. They traveled the country and the world with their two children, Christin (21) and Jake (15). Rich worked as Chief Information Officer for Clarian Health for the past five years, making huge strides in the implementation of new technologies, with a focus on improved patient care. He often worked outdoors, planting trees and flowers and building decks suitable for enjoying the sunshine. Rich appreciated fine scotch, and enjoyed Dominican baseball, reggae music, and teasing his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Margaret Johnson.
